Job Summary

The Principal Business Analyst will be part of the Product Development team, supporting the Product Manager in analyzing products and breaking requirements down into epics and features. The role will model business requirements, translate them into clear user stories, and take full ownership of the product transactional backlog.

Job Objectives

• Translate business needs into clear epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Ensure requirements are ready and fully understood by the development team before development starts.

• Support effective Agile delivery through close collaboration with the Product Manager and development team.

• Identify opportunities to improve product adoption, customer satisfaction, quality, and business processes.

Job Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Backlog Management

• Model business requirements and convert them into clear, actionable user stories.

• Own and maintain the product transactional backlog.

• Ensure user stories are ready for development and include detailed acceptance criteria.

• Ensure development team members have a full understanding of each user story.

Agile Delivery & Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with the development team throughout the delivery lifecycle.

• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other Scrum meetings as needed.

• Evaluate product progress at each iteration and support clarification of business requirements.

• Process & Solution Analysis

• Identify issues, risks, and benefits of existing and proposed solutions and outline their business impact.

• Identify ways to increase product adoption and customer satisfaction.

• Coordinate process design changes through complex business and systems process analysis, with a focus on quality improvement and data management.

Documentation & UAT

• Produce and coordinate feature-level analysis documentation, including business and system requirements, scope matrices, use cases, sequence diagrams, future-state proposals, and UAT plans.

• Support process documentation and re-engineering activities.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification

• Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.

• Previous Work Experience

• Minimum of 8 years of total experience, including at least 3 years in a relevant position.

• Experience in the insurance or financial domain is preferred.

• Fintech startup experience is highly preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong analytical skills for gathering and analyzing information, timely decision-making, and problem solving.

• High level of responsibility, ownership, and focus.

• Strong knowledge of Agile software development and the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Experience in process analysis, process documentation, and process re-engineering.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio.

• Strong focus on continuously improving consumer experiences.
